Structural Profiles and Shapes in FRP |
 | As with conventional materials, FIBRA S.A. fabricates FRP profiles of diverse sizes and shapes, which are employed where corrosive environments are present.
The structural profiles are fabricated by means of a continuous process called Pulltrusion. These profiles are highly resistant to corrosion due to their being made with Vinylester resins which have excellent chemical properties, and, by request, fire-retardant properties may be added. Profiles can be ordered in standard lengths of 3m and 6m. They possess a smooth surface and the colour is incorporated in the resin; they are maintenance-free and have a very high ratio of structural resistance to weight.
FIBRA S.A. will aid in choosing the right sizes for the profiles in accordance with the requirements, and also in selecting the proper fastening system.
Characteristics and dimensions of the most commonly used profiles are shown in the following sections. Should particular shapes or sizes of different characteristics be required, they may be manufactured if the amount justifies the creation of a new shaping matrix. | |
