Kemira EAGLE & HAWK, Pöyry Forest Industry Oy Nufil S.A., through ERCO WORLDWIDE awarded FIBRA S.A. with FRP tanks for its project located in Fray Bentos, Uruguay.
 

The tanks with capacities of 663 m3, diameters of 7 m and more than 17 m in height, subjected to external load and vacuum, were constructed, designed and calculated according to international standards and the project specifications. The engineering process took more than two months to construct transportable sized units to be carried from Chile to Uruguay by sea.


For this project, FIBRA S.A. was required to create its designs giving consideration to transport difficulties and restrictions. Special equipment was used in shipping the large units to the plant in Fray Bentos where they were assembled.
