Butterfly valves are fabricated using the dual laminate method, combined with hand lay up using vinylester resin reinforced with fibreglass as a structural barrier and a thermoplastic liner as a chemical barrier. Depending on the operating conditions, this can be PVC, Polypropilene, PVDF or sometimes ECTFE. The excellent mechanical properties of Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic, added to the great chemical and thermal resistance that the liner provides combine to create a product of great efficiency when the situation is the presence of hot and highly corrosive gases.
The valves are of low weight, which reduces shipping costs and also needs lighter supports, its surface is smooth and produces negligible friction, is easy to clean and maintenance-free.
On the outside, the valve has a resin-rich layer of vinylester with UV inhibitor, making it greatly resistant to outdoor use.
Seals are normally made of Hypalon, Viton or PVC and may be purchased as additional spare parts.
The operating mechanism can be manual or electrical under remote control. Mounting system is via normalized flanges.
Valves are made to order starting at 300mm inside diameter up to 2,800mm.
To define and select the right material for the valve, the following data should be provided: Type of gas to be handled Concentration of the gas Specific weight Operating temperature of the gas Maximum temperature of the gas Operating pressure (vacuum) Geographical location for installation |
